Teenage Forward Kayode Peterkin Signs New Deal with Charlton
Promising Nigerian forward Kayode Peterkin has signed a new deal with League One club Charlton Athletic ahead of the 2025–2026 season. The teenager, who has already put pen to paper, will be part of the club’s new intake of academy scholars. His new contract will keep him at Charlton until the end of the 2026–2027 season.
Peterkin will be promoted to Charlton’s U18s next season and will be eligible to feature in the Professional Development League, FA Youth Cup, and Professional Development League Cup. He also qualifies to be registered in Charlton’s English Football League squad as a scholar.
The young striker made his competitive debut for Charlton’s U18s while still a schoolboy, scoring in a 3-2 loss to Stevenage in the Professional Development League Cup last October. Charlton’s academy has a strong history of developing Nigerian talents, including Super Eagles stars Ademola Lookman and Semi Ajayi.
